General questions about our systems
How much
increase in filing or storage capacity can I expect from a high
density mobile system?
A
typical system will double the capacity of a given area but can
increase it as much
as 400% if your files are now in 4 or
5-drawer file cabinets. Here’s how: First, by
replacing file
cabinets with 8-level file shelving, you more than double the number
of
files per square foot of floor space. Then, by “mobilizing”
the shelving, you double again the number of shelving sections by
eliminating the empty, wasted aisle space between
them.
Does high density storage
offer other benefits in addition to space savings?
Yes. Productivity: By consolidating
your files or stored material in a compact area,
especially on
open shelves, access time is reduced, large numbers of files are
visible at once, misfiles are reduced, walking distances are
usually less especially if some of your records are now kept in
another room or the basement, or off-site
entirely. Security: An entire mobile system can
be locked to prevent unauthorized access to the contents. Versatility: Our high density system can
hold many things in addition to files such as: books, office
supplies, forms, inventory, samples, parts, collections,
etc.
Do you offer any
warranty?
Yes, for a lifetime! For
as long as you own a SpaceNow! system we will replace or
repair
any part found defective in materials or workmanship and including
any part
that wears out even in normal use. For one (1) year we
will also provide or pay for the labor involved.
Can a SpaceNow! system be
expanded at a later date?
Yes. All
SpaceNow! systems are modular and can be expanded in both length
and
width without even taking the existing system out of use.
Also, modularity allows a
system to be moved and re-installed in
a different shape using the same components.
What kind of ongoing
maintenance must I perform?
Virtually none. A SpaceNow! System, properly
installed, requires no maintenance.
How long do I have to
wait for delivery after I order a System?
For standard systems in standard colors, SpaceNow!
can ship in as few as five business days. Very large systems or
special colors and sizes may take longer, the time
depending on
what is ordered.
Questions about Full-Deck Systems with recessed rails
You say that a SpaceNow!
Full-Deck System is not attached to the floor in any way. How can it
be stable enough not to move or to hold the weight?
Because all the rails and all the deck panels are
bolted together to form a single,
monolithic platform that simply
cannot move. In fact, the more weight on the system, the more
stable it becomes.
How does SpaceNow!
compare in terms of quality and durability?
The SpaceNow! Full-Deck System is a premium quality,
heavy-duty product capable of the highest weight-carrying
capacity of any system offered to the office and
record storage
market. This means many years of trouble-free,
maintenance-free operation. Thousands of installations throughout
the country have proven its quality, durability and
value.
What should I know about
safety?
The SpaceNow! Full-Deck
System incorporates a number of safety features: Low-profile
deck only 1¾” high with sloped front molding; flush rails with no
open
channels in the deck; non-slip, ribbed vinyl deck surface;
large rubber bumpers to
provide generous finger clearance between
closing sections. In addition, you may
order optional Aisle
Keepers™ which allow you to lock open the aisle you’re work-
ing
in. The designers of the SpaceNow! System have over 50 years’
experience and
thousands of installations with an unblemished
safety record.
Questions about NoTrac® Trackless Systems
How does a trackless
system work; what keeps the carriages in line?
A single guide channel is attached to the floor next
to a wall or to the wall itself at
floor level. The carriages
roll on non-marring, urethane-rimmed ball-bearing wheels, guided
and driven from one end by a patent pending arrangement of rollers
and gears within this channel which prevents the carriages from
twisting out of line.
Can the
NoTrac® Trackless System be installed on carpeting or a
floor that’s not hard and smooth?
Absolutely! For carpeted or rough floors the system
comes with “GlidePath™,” flat
1/4”-thick steel runners to provide
a hard, smooth surface for the wheels to ride on.
When GlidePath™
is used nothing, not even the guide channel, is attached to
the floor or wall.
What should I know about
safety?
Without tracks on the floor
there is no tripping hazard or anything on the floor to
obstruct
the movement of carts, a rolling stepstool, ladder or a wheelchair.
Large
rubber bumpers provide generous finger clearance between
closing sections and, in
addition, you may order optional Aisle
Keepers™ which allow you to lock open the
aisle you’re working
in. The guide channel incorporates an anti-tip system to
prevent the carriages from tilting or lifting up.
